One Incredibly Simple Trick to Help You Focus

Happy Monday, Superheroes! Chances are, you probably have a meeting today – and you are going to have trouble concentrating. After all, meetings can be useful, but they can also be really incredibly boring. Who can blame you for spacing out?

Answer: your bosses, who will be less than thrilled if they ask you a question mid-meeting and you have no idea what’s going on.

That’s why we recommend this incredibly simple trick to help you focus, courtesy of Mindful 10 at the World Business Forum in New York City.

All you have to do is touch your thumb and your index finger, then make circles with your index fingers on your thumb.

It sounds crazy, right? But I used it several times during the various lectures I sat through last week – and to incredible effect. According to Mindful 10, this simple trick forces your attention back into your body so that you become more aware and present of what’s going on around you.

And as a bonus, it forces your hand off your computer and phone so you can’t surreptitiously text under the table.

So if you’re feeling distracted this week, try the above trick! You might be surprised at how well it works.
