Superhero Secrets: Chris Pan, Founder of My Intent Project

Did you see the Time 100 covers this year? Perhaps you saw the one with Kanye West and wondered about the bracelet he was wearing. Wonder no more – that bracelet is a product of the My Intent Project, founded by real-life superhero Chris Pan.

My Intent Project creates bracelets and necklaces featuring a ‘word of intention’ that you choose.

“That word could be something that is a challenge that you want to overcome,” Chris explains in the video above. “It could be something that if you wake up tomorrow morning and you want to look down at your wrist, it’s going to help you achieve that goal that you have – or it’s just something that you believe in. It’s something that reminds you of your purpose in life.”

Sound powerful and interesting? Lots of people agree. That includes Jay-Z, who invited Chris to his Roc Nation Grammys brunch where Kanye learned about the bracelet. But Chris has also used his product for various good causes, where charities promote the product to their members and Chris shares the proceeds back with them.

“It helps their members be more intentional,” Chris explains.

So what prompted Chris to begin My Intent Project, and what kind of causes has he supported with it? Watch the video above to find out – and don’t forget to check back Monday for Part 2!
